The Motta hamlet of Costigliole d’Asti is ready to celebrate its square pepper: the historic festival, which takes place every summer, this year reaches the seventy-fourth edition and presents a rich program that will be developed from 2 to 6 August. The organizers of the Motta Pro loco say: The vegetables, and in particular the square d'Asti pepper, represent with our typical wines the winning card of the traditional economy of the plain of the Costaro area and will be exalted in the five food and wine evenings with a program full of shows. The new mayor of Costigliole d'Asti Enrico Alessandro Cavallero also intervenes: this festival is a showpiece of the Municipality and of the whole regional territory; it is therefore right to thank all those who work on the organization of this great event, in particular the very active Pro Loco; the new municipal administration confirms the interest in protecting and supporting these activities, ensuring the necessary commitment and collaboration.

It starts Friday 2 August: from 7.30 pm, the food and wine stand will be opened and, from 9.30 pm, you can dance with Dj Matrix and Mr. Cugi (free admission). On the evening of Saturday 3 August, the food and wine stand will offer fried frogs with mottese, while the music to dance will be played by the orchestra show of Francesca Mazzuccato (free admission).

Sunday, August 4, the appointment with the traditional fair from sunrise to sunset, the first "Green Farm": exhibition-market of the square pepper of Asti and review of the agri-food, craft and hobby with the exhibition of equipment for vegetable garden and garden. During the day, starting at 10 am, Mass at the sports field, the performance of the band from the Costiglia area and the group of flag-wavers Alfieri di Costigliole d’Asti. At 12.30, the lunch of the fair and, at 19.30, the reopening of the food and wine stand with the "marriage" between the frog and the pepper. To brighten up the evening there will be the orchestra of Pietro Galassi and the election of Miss Motta 2019 (free admission). On Monday, August 5th, at 7.30 pm, the "barbecue under the stars" will be scheduled and will dance with Sonia De Castelli and her orchestra (free admission); at 11.00 pm you can admire the fireworks show. The festival will end on Tuesday 6 August, at 10 pm, with a concert by Gabry Ponte: a single ticket for 15 euros with pre-sales on www.ciaotickets.com. For the duration of the celebrations, at the sports field, the charity desk, the bar service and the amusement park will be active. In case of bad weather the events will take place indoors.
